IcFEM have looked into specialist insurance; below, we have put relevant details of a suitable insurance policy as we believe that it gives the best cover for this type of travel and gap/volunteer work. The insurance company's which is appropriate for our students/volunteers is ACE Guardian travel insurance through MasterPolicy Insurance Brokers Ltd and Salt Insurance.
Students/volunteers must make sure that any policy they prefer will provide them with similar cover to the same level and standard as that suggested by IcFEM as many policies do not cover this sort of gap/volunteer activity abroad.
